French composer Claude Debussy, labeled as the first musical “impressionist”, is widely recognized as one of the greatest influences on 20th century music. A selection of Debussy’s most impressive compositions will be performed by an ensemble of talented local and regional musicians, including Tim Anderson, Patricia Jeske, Kristen Nelson and Rulee Stallmann, piano; Rachel Handlin, violin; Jacques St. Cyr, flute; and Beth Fredrickson, soprano.
6:45 p.m. – Pre-concert lecture by Michael Beert, Director of the Rock Valley College Community Orchestra.
To be held at Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 N. Court St., Rockford.
