Where: Rockford College-Clark Arts Center
The 2005 documentary film "Invisible Children: Rough Cut" detailed Africa’s longest–running war in northern Uganda, a conflict where children were both weapons and victims. The work inspired the creation by the film makers of Invisible Children, Inc., to help those children reclaim life. Now an internationally active non-profit organization, it works to implement and maintain education programs and economic initiatives on the ground in central Africa. IC also sends teams of former child-soldiers and young Americans to carry this story to the world. This visit will highlight the IC’s latest documentary, "Kony 2012", about Joseph Kony, the notorious and brutal leader of Uganda’s rebel guerrillas, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
