Rock the Campus: A Hip Hop Showcase, to be hosted by Rockford College

Rock the Campus: A Hip Hop Showcase, will be hosted by Rockford College on Thursday, in Regents Hall at the college’s
A Hip Hop Showcase will feature a display of local Hip Hop talent and will include the elements of BBoying, DJing, MCing, Spoken Word, and Visual Art.
The event will also feature music spun by Dj-spk, Rick Monsta, and DJ Diesel. There will be a BBoy Cypher with the Midwest Monstaz and the Rockford BBoys and BGirls. Art will be displayed by local artists including Eddie Fajardo, Jarrod Hennis of Pirate Ninja Print Shop, Mario Kayo Martinez of Guerilla Art, and Timo Weiner of V.A. Studios. A Spoken Word showcase will feature local artists Shawn Absolute Belknap, Chosen, Akeem Kizart, Rosie Thepoet, Christopher D. Sims, and Justin “The Last Wordbender” Saichek.
Rock the Campus is sponsored by Rockford Hip Hop Congress, in conjunction with Guerilla Art, Fly Society, and Midwest Monstaz
The exhibition and performances are free and open to the public. Burpee Center is accessible.
