Stateline Mass Transit District 5-Year anniversary Open House.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 6, 2013
Stateline Mass Transit District will be celebrating their 5-Year anniversary with an Open House on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. The event will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the Rockton Township Town Hall, 1315 N. Blackhawk Blvd. in Rockton.
“The informal open house is our way of thanking the community for five successful years of providing safe, affordable transportation,” said S.M.T.D. Executive Director Sharon Hecox. “The residents of South Beloit, Rockton, Roscoe and Rockton Township are very fortunate to have this excellent service. SMTD is not just about providing transportation—we’re about providing independence and a quality of life for many people.”
The 5 year anniversary celebration is open to the public, and those attending can enter for a chance to win a Kindle Reader. Cake, cookies and snacks will be provided. The event is hosted by the Stateline Mass Transit District Board of Trustees. The newest bus of the fleet will be on site for viewing.
Since 2008, Stateline Mass Transit has offered low cost ‘dial-a-ride’ bus service for South Beloit, Rockton, Roscoe and Rockton Township residents. S.M.T.D. buses will pick up riders at their homes and take them to any destination in the participating communities. The curb-to-curb service is not just for seniors and the disabled, but is ideal for commuters, medical appointments, shopping, or any destination inside the service area deemed necessary by the rider.
